Studio SC created a comprehensive environmental graphics and wayfinding program for the Allen Institute for Brain Science. Focusing on the many layers of “connections” our minds make on a daily basis, the graphics program is bright, technical, and inspired by the collaborative, data-driven work at the organization.
Interior signage organizes the laboratory spaces and is flexible to accommodate the needs of a constantly evolving workspace. The graphics reflect the cooperative attitude of the organization.
The large exterior signs were integrated into the architectural skin with carved-in lettering. The effect is informed by the science of “peering into” the inner-workings of the brain.
